I am hungry.

I am on a diet...well not really a diet, I am just cutting out the bad stuff before the holidays. My thought is that if I shed a few pounds before the Christmas cookies start coming out then I won't gorge myself and gain 10 pounds this year over the holiday. So I am trying to eat right...cutting back portions, lots of fruits, and veggies...you know the drill.

But right now I am starving. Its the third day of my diet, and for some reason my track record always shows the third day is the hardest for me....if I can just get through this hunger then tommorow should be smooth sailing. Until of course this weekend when I see BK, and I am sure my good eating habits will go strait down the drain....hopefully not though.

Im so hungry that the "christmas cookie" scented yankee candle that I am burning at the moment is even tempting. It does smell just like a christmas cookie...how do they do that?

the fourth meal

Yesterday for a quick lunch I ran to the border...aka Taco Bell. All of over the fast food eatery was there new catch phrase..."Late night hunger..? Then try the fourth meal." They claim the fourth meal is the meal in between dinner and breakfast. I claim that this is another ploy to make America fatter than we already are.

Don't get me wrong...I have eaten a fourth meal probably before Taco Bell ever thought of coining the phrase. In fact in college we ate fourth meals like it was our job after a night of drinking. My roomie would come home and make elaborate meals...no kidding. She was known for making a shepards pie from scratch at 4 am. And God bless her because at times those fourth meals saved me from hangovers on many Sundays.

But I can't do it anymore. Eating something that heavy like Taco bell sounds nauseating to me. Not only that but it is horrible to eat past like 7 at night. All those calories just sitting on your thighs and tummy....its just not a good thing. It just blows my mind that Taco bell has a whole ad campaign catered to eating at all hours of the day. They are basically stating that there are 24 hours in the day..lets make a whole new meal...we have the time!

So who is eating this fourth meal? Is it just aimed at college students who need a sponge after a night of heavy drinking? Or is America as a whole interested in adding another meal to their daily routine?

Corina's Catch Up!

Sorry for being MIA here of late....but alas this is the last week of my show, and then I will have my life back! Yippee. I don't know what I will do with myself.

So yeah. The show goes up Thursday. And will run through Sunday. It is cute...Christmasy, and cute.

Other than the show I have just been a worker bee by day, and I head to the theatre nightly. Friday nights after rehearsal me and Steph drank wine from a box, and discovered that the 11 dollar box leaves quite a hangover the next day...might as well spring for the good stuff, and get Franzia. Then I actually had Saturday off, and spent it on the couch, and then later at 519. There I discovered a new beer that I enjoy....Grolsch (that might be spelled wrong) Blonde Lager. Its delicious. Normally I am a miller lite kind of gal, but lately I have been getting into the nicer stuff.

This weekend there will be people in town...my rents, and BK, and his dad and Grandma are also coming to see the show!

Then its a 3 day work week (yeah!) and its home for thanksgiving. I haven't been home in a while since ...the beginning of August. I can't wait to eat turkey.

And that is my life in a nutshell. I apologise again for the lack of posts, but there will be more soon!

and for once greenville got it right!

Today is election day so I went to vote. I have to say I really was not looking forward to it...the lines, the waiting, and its raining out. I just really almost talked myself out of it.

The last time I voted was in Charlotte. First I had to park a good 1/4 mile away..then I remember waiting for 3 hours in the rain while a swarm of hornets tormented us. It was not fun. In fact it pretty much took up my whole day, and ruined what was left of it. That example in itself is why I am sure most do not vote...it can be a hassle. And when something is a hassle for most its just easier not to do it.

But let me tell you. Today despite the cold and rain voting was refreshing. I went to the Mt Calvary FWB church and pulled into the parking lot. Got a space and followed and walked right in. There were a couple of people handing out flyers for certain canidates, but none of them were pushy, and that was nice.

Entering I expected to find a line, but what I found was a group of women chit-chatting and when I walked in they said "Sugar whats your last name?"...something about being called Sugar makes you feel immediatly welcome. I told them Rice they looked me up, handed me the ballot and I was voting in no time. I stuck the ballot in the machine and a lady gave me a sticker, and said "thank ya baby"...I was a little in shock at how incredibly easy it was. And how friendly everyone was....it was a pleasure to vote. At the end I kind of hoped the ladies would invite me for lunch or something...that is how at home I felt.

So heres my thing...if voting was always like this I know more people would get out and do it. Since I live in smaller community voting can be easy, but sadly not all places can run as smoothly as the Mt. Calvary FWB. So hassle or no hassle we still have to vote...seriously people make sure your vote count. You only get one so you might as well use it.

Happy Holidays

I am a little ahead of myself. Usually I get excited about the holidays...ie. Christmas after Thanksgiving. But I already have the Christmas spirit, and its way to early for that.

My schedule is all off. Its because of this damn show I am directing. Day in and day out I hear Christmas songs playing through my head. It has really thrown my holiday schedule all off kilter.

But the thing is....and I am sure most will relate with me when I say this, but Christmas will be here before we know it. Seriously it will be Dec. 25th soon, and we will all be saying, "Wow..when did Christmas get here?!"

Life has a way of doing that lately. It feels as though days, and weeks, and months and even seasons go by so quickly now. Its like when you graduate from college, and then pass into the "real world" things just start flying by. My life is now spent dreading Mondays, and then Friday comes around and I am not sure where the week went. Weekends are spent catching up on things that couldn't be accomplished during the week, and then you have to do it all over again. We make it through the days looking forward to things in the future that will take us away from the mundane day to day...days off, weekend get-a-ways, and holidays with family.

I guess that could be the reason that (like a child) I am already getting excited about Christmas. Because for a long weekend I can put work to the side, and be with friends and family.
I also enjoy the food, and presents. ;)
