it's the most wonderful time of the year...

not christmas, but the annual trip to topsail beach. we leave tommorow, and this girl couldn't be more ready. a whole week with nothing to worry about except which cocktail to enjoy on the beach, or spf 15, or 30. a whole week of no telephone calls, no checking emails, and my blackberry off.

today can't go by fast enough...tommorow will be a long day too, but saturday i will be the first one on that beach, and maybe the last one off.

ever since the baby came...

Baby meaning hazel of course...sleep at our house has been a foreign thing. she likes to wake up at various intervals through the night. Then she likes to get up for good right around 6 am. Now during the week this isn't so bad. We have to get up early for work anyway. But on the weekend it would be nice to sleep in a little. But nope...Hazel had us up at 6 am sharp both Saturday and Sunday. BK took the Saturday shift, and I the Sunday. So atleast we got to sleep one day. Having a puppy is fun, shes cute, and playful, and there are a lot of ooohhhs and awwws everywhere we go. That being said I am ready for her to grow up a bit, or atleast learn the fine points of sleeping in on the weekends.

tv is crap

last night me and BK watched wife swap...a re-run. don't get me wrong. something about the disfunctionality (not sure if thats a word) makes this show interesting. then after the wives swapped there was a show called...X's, or something like that. X's hosted by Shar Jackson, Marla Maples, and a red haired girl give women and men who have had divorces a chance to "get even" and find themselves again after the divorce. Last night the woman on the show found out her husband had been cheating on her with another woman...gasp. It was pretty sad. My thing was why would you take advice from Marla Maples who at one time in her life was "the other woman"? Also I find it interesting tat Shar Jackson is on that show...the only thing she is famous for is being with Kevin Federline, that in itself doesn't make fame...it kind of makes shame, well...in my book. And who is that red headed lady that is the third host?

My point is this...tv and reality tv has gone to crap. Summer is officially here, nobody cares about sweeps. They just basically play whatever they feel like.

where did all the bravo go?

Last night I was very excited, because while evening television has been awful lately, i was really looking forward to the season premiere of Top Chef. I was all set to DVR, and began searching and searching to find the channel. And it was nowhere to be found. Time Warner cable doesn't offer the Bravo channel. I don't get it. I get 6 MTV's but not even one Bravo. I can watch ESPN in 10 different languages if I wanted to, but I can't catch my favorite tv shows. So I called Time Warner just hoping maybe it was a mistake, and nope it was no mistake. Bravo isn't available in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, etc. It just makes me wonder. If I get every other channel then why am I lacking Bravo? Does it have anything to do with their programming and the fact that they feature people, and television that some A$$holes in this bible belt im living in don't agree with? Or am I jumping to conclusions??

Whatever the reason may be has really put a dent into my summer tv watching. I love Top Chef, and Kathy Griffin my life on the D list. And don't get me started about Project Runway. I still haven't really come to terms that I might be missing that show.

I don't get it...

If you watch Sopranos then you know last night was the series finale. I had figured it would go out with a bang...pun INtended. But it was rather anti-clamactic. I wonder who picked the ending that they used. Can anyone shed any light onto what it meant? The only thing I got from it was that some things never change.

I would love to hear others takes...

corina's catch up

So its been a minute...
Heres whats going on with me.
Me and BK just got a puppy. She and English Bulldog, and her name is Hazel, short for Hazelnut. And she is a love...and also the laziest dog I have ever met. She enjoys lounging on the couch, and usually only gets up when there is food served, or she needs a bathroom break. I have tons of pictures, but I got a new computer, and the old computer (which was stolen) got stolen with the software for my camera. So right now I have tons of pics, but no way to load them to my computer. But I am ordering the software, and will load them ASAP.
Other than that, I am enjoying the warm summer weather. Counting down the days till the beach trip. And working working working.

Pictures soon to come!
